These four organizations represent all <br /> commodities of the agricultural industry on the Island of Hawaii and collectively have a current <br /> base of more than 425 members. <br /> On January 24, 2005, the Board of Directors of the Big Island Farm Bureau voted to support <br /> Bill 163, Draft 5 in its present form and without further revisions. Ever since the General Plan <br /> revision process began in September 2000, the Big Island Farm Bureau has been actively involved in <br /> providing input to various County Council committees, the County Planning Commission and to <br /> various County Departments. <br /> The Big Island Farm Bureau extends its mahalo to the County Council, County Planning <br /> Department, County Planning Commission and to all the individuals and organizations whom have <br /> given input and taken this revision of the General Plan from Draft 1 through to Draft 5. <br /> In closing, the Big Island is in dire need of an updated General Plan and therefore the Big <br /> Island Farm Bureau implores the members of the County Council to adopt Bill 163, Draft 5 today. <br /> <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Howard T.
