Message Page 1 of 1
Bethea, Skip
From: rcelliott [swimphar@turquoise.net] ~ ,
~1
Sent: Tuesday, March 15, 2005 8:37 PM
To: counciltestimony@co.hawaii.hi.us
Subject: Budget Meeting in Kona -
To: Hawaii County Council '
From: Ray and Carol Elliott 3/15/05
Spending our tax money wisely should be our goal and thank you for allowing the taxpayer to have
input. We believe there is a special need at the Kona Community Pool for a Security Person to help
monitor the outrageous and unlawful behavior of some of the visitors. Because of poor response from
the 911 calls to police, the lifeguards are pulled away from their main job of guarding in order to police.
We suggest a bill time Security Person to sign in patrons seeing that they understand pool rules and
handle situations as they arise. Lately the Kona Pool is unsafe with guards being shoved, hit and
threatened. These problems need to be addressed to keep the Community Pool for the community
instead of the felons, deviates and people who just are obnoxious about not obeying the rules. There are
outrageous incidents that happen where police are needed quite often so please create a security position
for the Kona Community Pool.
Tax money would well be spent on more police and firemen, too.
Mahalo
Comm. No. ~ ~T'.I~i
Ref. To:
Ref. C`otF
3/16/05
