1. No grip strips on stairs. <br /> 2. 13 apartments without hot water <br /> 3. Approximately 5 months passed before water line was fixed. <br /> 4. It took 1 year to fix a leaking ceiling. <br /> 5. Threatened with eviction notices. <br /> 6. Most of the residents are disabled and elderly. <br /> 7. Residents are intimidated by management. <br /> C. Nani Olu <br /> 1. Approximately 2 years ago, the water heater broke on a <br /> Saturday and flooded two apartments. The fire department, <br /> police, and Red Cross showed up. Photographs were taken. <br /> One of the residents lived in the community room for 10 days <br /> because management said that they could go back to the <br /> apartment, which was not livable. <br /> 2. Three washing machines for 32 units. One has been broken for <br /> two years now. The second is broken since March of this year <br /> and the third recently broke in July. The washing machines <br /> have not been fixed. The residents have had to go and have <br /> someone drive them to get their laundry done. <br /> 3. Most of the residents are disabled and elderly. <br /> 4. Residents do not want to report incidents because they are <br /> afraid and intimidated by management. <br /> <br /> D. Kaimalino <br /> 1. On May E, 2003, the residents voted to form an association. <br /> 2. On July 17, 2003, election was held to elect officers/directors. <br /> 3. Buildings are not numbered and the concern is that in the event <br /> of an emergency the rescue personnel will have a difficult time <br /> finding a unit because lack of identification of each separate <br /> building. <br /> 4. One of the residents broke her foot by stepping into an open <br /> water valve hole, which is still not fixed. <br /> 5. It took two weeks to respond to a resident's request to fix her <br /> oven. Sean told her that a regulator was needed. After a month <br /> passed, the resident called and Sean came to fix the oven. The <br /> repair was not done right and flames were shooting off the <br /> sides. The resident feared that the gas stove would be a safety <br /> hazard and did not want to use the over. Resident felt that <br /> Sean is unqualified to do some of the repairs. <br /> 6. A resident's bathtub has masking tape and water backs up. <br /> 7. Smoke detectors not working. The ones that are fixed a bill is <br /> sent to the tenant. Lisa denied resident's request to not have to <br /> pay the 16.00 bill. Frank Jung paid the resident's $16.00 so the <br /> resident could pay for the bill. <br /> <br />
