Murashige, Laura
From: nancy Redfeather [nancyredfeather@yahoo.com]
Sent: Monday, April 18, 2005 9:29 PM
To: cou nciltesti mony@co. hawaii. h i. us
Subject: Strong Support for Bills 78, 79, and 80
I support Bill 78 which calls for 2% from property _
taxes to be used for increasing the public's access to
Open Space. We are already seeing a huge influx of
new citizens, and the need for proper planning for the ~ _
future. The quality of life is important to the -
people of Hawaii. This quality is measured in open
space in the environment. The visitor is looking for
that same quality also. The citizens of Maui and
Kauai have voted their support for similar bills. It _
is time for Hawaii county to act in behalf of our
future generations. -
I also support Bill 79 which calls for a bond float to -
buy and preserve open spaces. It will be a good
investment for the future.
I also support bill 80. A Developer should seek
rezoning for non-ag related projects on ag land. If
the state will not fulfill the constitutional mandate
of identify ag lands, then the county should create a
framework which will deal with this issue. Obviously
some lands zoned ag will never be used for ag.
Developers, will have to go through a process in order
to rezone these properties. By doing so, marginal
lands will be placed in their proper designations.

Thank you for this opportunity to share my opinion,
Nancy Redfeather
Honalo, Hawaii
Comm.
