will be addressed at the May 3rd, 2005 Planning Committee Meeting. I am writing with
great concern for our beautiful town and am voicing my opinion as to the aforementioned
development. Please note, that it is not growth that is the concern, but uncontrolled
growth. Most homes/apartments/o~ndos have at least 2 cars and some have even more.
Considering that this one project could bring at least 700 more cars to the Queen
Kaahumanu Highway and adjoining streets on a daily basis in itself would be reason to
terminate the project.
We (my friends and family) are against any new housing developments in the areas that
border Alii Drive, Kuakini Highway and Queen K. highway until the infrastructure to support
them is in place and we feel that there should be a temporary moratorium until such
infrastructures are implemented.
A recent article in West Hawaii Toda~~ indicated that most people at the last public hearing
were against the development. Why are our council members not listening to what their
constituents want? Why are they lis:ening to or agreeing with developers that could
possibly not even live in Kona? Please listen to the public that has no financial interest in
the advancement of such ludicrous developments.
Thank you for allowing me to express my thoughts in this matter and I look forward to
hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Dorothy R. Moore

4/26/2005
