County and State of f lawai'i. 'this acquisition is for the development and construction ofa <br /> connector road hehvccn I Iola Street and Kebke'o Street in Kona. Hawaii. <br /> Council Mcmhcr Virginia Isbell rc~crred to a letter Isom Bob and Pat Aeder, dated May 1. ?005. <br /> <br /> expressing their concerns over a tell hn~n from Kebke'o Street on to Kaiminani Street and a right <br /> <br /> turn from Kaiminani on to Ke'oke'o Street, and they have asked Director of Public Works Bruce <br /> McClure to respond. Mr. McClure stated that sight distance and turning issues arc often the result of <br /> <br /> going too fast and that ifdrivers lullowed the. posted speed limits, right and left turns could hL done <br /> salcly. <br /> Hob Aeder spoke and reiterated concerns expressed in his letter. He also added that the transition <br /> From Kc`oke'o Stred to I Iola Street will be dangerous, because Holu Street is very narrow and has a <br /> steep slope. I Ic also raised the issue of land ownership, and claims that the resolution does nod <br /> <br /> account fiu all the possible owners of the property. Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald ~fakase <br /> responded that according to the title report the property in question (parcel I 1 1) is owned enlirel~ <br /> h~ Harue N1a~sunxrio. <br /> Council Mcmbcr K. Angel Pilago said that he would ibllow-up with Die Deportment of Public <br /> Works regarding the safety issues raised, and also follow-up with Corporation Counsel regarding the <br /> land ownership issues. Council Member Bob .lacobson asked for clarification on parcel 101 . <br /> Mr. I akase answered that the Counq~ has in its possession a dedication deed from one of the owners <br /> fur that parcel, however, the ownership may not be 100 percent. If needed. the County can deal with <br /> the rest of the ownccs later. Having the dedication deed allows the County to proceed with the <br /> process. Morcova~_ Mr. 'I~akasc explained that this resolution covers parcel I 1 1 only, which is the <br /> Matsumoto properly. In response to possible satety measures.
