Higa, Chairperson and , <br /> Members of the Hawaii County Council <br /> Hawaii County Council - <br /> 25 Aupuni Street <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Re: Acceptance of Donation <br /> In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which authorizes <br /> the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal property, and with <br /> (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code, which states that any <br /> donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of finance <br /> shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we request the Council's approval of the <br /> following donations: <br /> A portable tent (total estimated value of $139.00) to the Hawaii County Police Department; <br /> for general use by the Department; by Trace Evidence, Attention: Lawrence Schiller, <br /> Executive Producer, Production Office, 7018 Owensmouth Avenue, Suite 104, Canoga Park, <br /> CA 91303. <br /> A library of educational materials, including books, videotapes, audiotapes, and CDs (total <br /> estimated value of $500.00) to the Hawaii County Police Department; in appreciation to the <br /> Department and Officer Wiliam Derr and to fulfull the Department's continuing educational <br /> needs in the area of health risk management; by Dr. Leonard G.
