My roadway, Royal Poinciana Drive, serves as a MAJOR <br /> collector/connector for cars traveling between Alii Drive and Kuakini Highway. <br /> Whatever development is placed on these properties WILL AFFECT US BIG TIME. <br /> We already have tons of traffic generated from all of the condos that were built in <br /> the last 6 years along Alii Drive. <br /> So here are some questions and comments that I would like you to think about <br /> especially as this developer throws more CARROTS at you. <br /> 1) It was my understanding that when Mr. Carr developed Kahakai Estates, HE <br /> GAVE 3 ACRES TO KAHAKAI ELEMENTARY. Did any of you check with DOE to see if <br /> this is still so? Because if it is, then <br /> why are you asking for more land for a school? <br /> 2) According to the newspaper, some of you are intent on reserving land for a <br /> school. What kind of school? How large? Did you know that, SCHOOLS ARE MAJOR <br /> TRAFFIC GENERATORS? <br /> 3) Before you even plan for a school YOU NEED TO REQUIRE A NEW TRAFFIC <br /> STUDY so that neighborhoods like mine DON'T GET SCREWED BY MORE TRAFFIC <br /> IN THE PROCESS. <br /> 4) Before you even plan for a school, YOU NEED TO OPEN UP THE ROADWAY <br /> THRU KAHAKAI ESTATES SO THAT WE ALL SHOULDER THE TRAFFIC LOAD THAT <br /> THIS DEVELOPMENT WILL BRING. <br /> 5) It is UNFAIR OF YOU TO KEEP DUMPING MORE TRAFFIC ON ROYAL <br /> POINCIANA DRIVE ONLY and exempt the rich neighborhoods like Kahakai Estates <br /> from shouldering some of the burden. PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THE TRAFFIC BURDEN <br /> IN AL.L NEIGHBORHOODS SO THAT WE ALL SHARE and STO_ P GIV_ ING <br /> PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT TO KAHAKAI ESTATES!! <br /> 6) Why aren't you staying focused on providing LOW INCOME HOUSING as well <br /> as AFFORDABLE HOUSING?
