iv or <br /> l <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3114 0~ <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br /> WHEREAS, The Farm Bureau is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary <br /> organization of individuals committed to seeking solutions to the problems of farmers and of <br /> rural communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Big Island Farm Bureau (BIFB) represents 700 farm and ranch <br /> families from four local chapters of The Farm Bureau, which are Hilo, Kona, Kamuela, and <br /> Hamakua; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIFB serves members of the agricultural community by providing <br /> agricultural education and support, and by raising community awareness through the Big Island <br /> Farm Fair activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, research has shown that farm fair activities and festivals throughout the <br /> world are fast becoming significant aspects of the tourism generating process; and <br /> WHEREAS, "Mealani's A Taste of the Hawaiian Range Agricultural Festival," now <br /> entering its fourth year in partnership with the visitor industry, is recognized as a strong agri- <br /> tourism product ofHawai`i island; and <br /> WHEREAS, "Mealani's A Taste of the Hawaiian Range Festival" plays a significant <br /> role in the tourism market of the Big Island and provides visitors with a unique experience <br /> through the blending of Hawaiian regional cuisine with our island's rich paniolo culture and <br /> agricultural heritage. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth <br /> <br /> below: <br /> FUND: General <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $5,000.00 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> <br /> O10.101.510L91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $5,000.00 <br /> <br />
