Murashige, Laura
.
From: Connie [ckvohden@hotmail.com]
Sent: Monday, March 20, 2006 8:23 PM
To: Council All
Subject: KPC 3/22/06 Agenda
Aloha Council Members:
With the growing number of Developers looking to develop unoccupied land in Hawaii, we
must once again focus on sustaining the current population.
We are already faced with gridlock traffic during the day, power outages and water
shortages. Unlike the mainland we have limited utility resources. While the developers
should not be expected to pay 100% of the cost for infrastructure, they either must wait until
such a time as the infrastructure can accommodate their development plans or they must
pay a higher cost to accelerate the process of their development.
Let's face it, development will happen however, the council has the opportunity to control the
speed. If there is such a demand for development than the increased costs associated with
infrastructure should not be a financial burden to the developer.
In addition, the development should reflect the look and style of Hawaii. This is not Palm
Springs or New York, let's not change the look of paradise. Hawaii draws travelers to it's
beautiful shores because of the style of Aloha. Any new development should reflect the style
and grace of Hawaii.
Please, help maintain the quality of life for those who call Hawaii home.
Sincerely,
Connie K. Vohden
Kahakai Estates
75-6173 Nakukui Drive
Kailua Kona, HI 96740
Comm. No.__ 3~ Z , 36
F.:~ f. To: Prw
tjuf. Uale

3/21 /2006
