No. 277-06 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br /> TIME: 10:00 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 277-06, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 277-06, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication <br /> <br /> No. 737, dated March 6, 2006, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Canines for Kids, <br /> <br /> lnc. <br /> Canines for Kids, Inc, a nonprofit organization located in Burlington, North Cazolina, has <br /> graciously donated a seazch dog to the Hawaii County Police Department's Juvenile Aid <br /> Section. The trained canine is capable of searching for missing children and Alzheimer's <br /> patients and to trail criminal suspects. The value of this donation is estimated at $8,000. <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf ofthe <br /> County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property. <br /> A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Mr. Mike Craig, Co-founder/President, Canines for <br /> Kids, Inc., 4581 B Tangle Ridge Trail, Burlington, North Cazolina 27217, acknowledging this <br /> generous donation. <br /> Sgt.
