No. 746/Bill No. 244 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br /> <br /> TIME: 10:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 244, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Bill No. 244, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 746, dated <br /> <br /> March 6, 2006, amends Ordinance No. OS-86, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 3Q 2006. <br /> <br /> The amendment is as follows: <br /> <br /> From: <br /> <br /> 3609.10 Fund Balance from Previous Year Solid Waste 1 200 000 <br /> TOTAL $1,200,000 <br /> To: <br /> <br /> 085.60(.5604.02 Landfills-OCE Solid Waste $1,150,000 <br /> <br /> 085.601.5610.02 Recycling Program -County OCE 50,000 <br /> TOTAL $1,200,000 <br /> The lapsed funding for the Waikoloa Village Curbside Study (in the Recycling Program) is being re- <br /> <br /> appropriated as the project is ready to begin. Also, in order to improve public safety at the Hilo Transfer <br /> <br /> and Recycling Facility, $550,000 are being appropriated for road and paving improvements. <br /> Additionally, $100,000 are needed to cover rising fuel costs. Finally, to extend the life of the Hilo <br /> Landfill and avoid shipping waste to West Hawaii, $500,000 are needed for the construction of the sliver <br /> fill at the South Hilo Sanitary Landfill.
