-~tM<Y os <br /> ,G- 4 <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> i~•~•N'~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3^~5 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br /> WHEREAS, the mission of the "Big Island Aloha Festivals" is to preserve and <br /> perpetuate the Hawaiian culture and to celebrate Hawai`i's diverse customs and traditions, and <br /> the Aloha Spirit; and <br /> WHEREAS, the emphasis from the start was on creating events, activities and media <br /> attention that would focus on Hawaii, however in more recent years, this emphasis has been <br /> expanded to include cultural awareness, understanding and preservation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the "Big Island Aloha Festivals" is continuously working toward improving and <br /> expanding all of its events and programs to better meet their goals and the changing needs of our <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, this year, while maintaining the high quality of their events, they will focus their <br /> resources on three particular areas of growth; and <br /> WHEREAS, their first goal is "Tourism Marketing", which will be to increase tourism to the <br /> Big Island as a direct result of the Big Island Aloha Festivals' events and to augment the partnership <br /> between Aloha Festivals and the Big Island tourist industry; and <br /> WHEREAS, their second goal is "Information Resources", which will be to use the Internet <br /> to better inform locals, mainlanders and foreigners about the many exciting cultural opportunities <br /> offered by Big Island Aloha Festivals; and <br /> WHEREAS, their third goal is "Supporting Infrastructure", which will be to maintain an <br /> appropriately increasing level of infrastructure and equipment to support their ongoing events. <br /> <br />
