~J~tv os N <br /> ~y " ~GBi <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ~7rf Of M~~' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 365 06 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL <br /> YEAR AND MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE OF <br /> REAL PROPERTY AT PUAINAKO CENTER, BUILDING C, BAY C-5, 2100 <br /> KANOELEHUA STREET IN HILO, TO ACCOMMODATE THE RELOCATION OF <br /> SOME OF THE OFFICES PRESENTLY IN THE COUNTY BUILDING AT 25 AUPUNI <br /> STREET <br /> WHEREAS, to complete the repairs and renovations to the County Building in the most <br /> expeditious way possible, the administration has decided to vacate the building while the work on the <br /> building takes place; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is estimated that a total of between 17,000 to 20,000 square feet of office space <br /> and another 6,000 to 7,500 square feet of storage space is needed to accommodate the departments <br /> presently in the County Building; and <br /> WHEREAS, one facility that is available and suitable for part of the office space requirements <br /> is located at Puainako Center, Building C, Bay C-5, 2100 Kanoelehua Street in Hilo and formerly <br /> <br /> occupied by Long's Drugs Express and Pay 'n' Save; and <br /> WHEREAS, this property contains approximately 7,540 square feet of office space and 7,282 <br /> <br /> square feet of storage/warehouse space; and <br /> WHEREAS, the owners of the building, PTC Partners, have agreed to expand its parking <br /> <br /> facilities to the rear of Bay C-5 if the County decides to lease this space; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease, or other <br /> obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year and more than one <br /> fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> <br />
