<br /> RE: Locating UH Campus on Property at Kealakehe Parkway and Queen K Hwy <br /> <br /> There's been some discussion of locating the new UH Kona campus on the property <br /> located at the corner of Kealakehe Parkway and Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway, <br /> mauka of the highway. <br /> PLEASE do not build the campus there. <br /> THAT PROPERTY IS LOCATED RIGHT NEXT TO TAE CITY DUMP. It reeks <br /> of garbage and rotten vegetation. It is especially noticeable in the mornings. I <br /> know, because I drive past it every morning on my way to work at Kealakehe High <br /> School. At times, if the wind is prevailing from that direction, the stench is <br /> pervasive even as far away as the high school, all day. <br /> <br /> When the wind shifts and comes out of the north, that property stinks from the <br /> nearby feedlot. <br /> It wou{d be a horrible mistake to build at that location.
