As residents of Kailua
Kona, my family and I are in favor of the Palamanui project. The project is
offering growth and opportunities for a town that needs it. The university will give
the community continuing education at a facilty that is clean and safe. West
Hawaii is in need of higher education and it is time to bring the University of
Hawaii to our side.

The present traffic situation is horrendeous, to say the least. To have roads that
would actually connect the upper and lower highways is essential. Traffic at this
point is only hurting Kona's econemy, tourists do not want to sit for long periods
of time in traffic, as you are all aware, it can take upwards of an hour or more to
get from the airport to town. Palamanui will give alternate routes.
Kona is going to grow, let's give it room to grow out where there is room, north of
the airport. Palamanui will only enhance West Hawaii's development with
alternate shopping, restaurants, schools and affordable housing.
Palamanui will only benefit Kona. Support our community and support Palamanui.
Thank you
Wayne and Debra Newman
Kailua Kona, HI 96745
Comm. Preseeto~d •
Ref. To:
Ref.
