Angel <br /> Subject: Bill 246 Chris Yuen wants to amend the subdivision code <br /> <br /> Please do not allow this change! <br /> We need more people in the planning dept in addition to a new director. <br /> <br /> I went to a meeting in Waikoloa last year when the new subdivisions were coming into the <br /> community. <br /> <br /> I stood up and said that same developer who is requesting more subdivision in Waikoloa <br /> came into my neighborhood in White Sands(6 Years ago), promising a park and access to <br /> Kuakini Hwy. There were to be no more than 249 homes built unless they connector road <br /> was put it. All the neighbors believed that we would get the connector. We got nothing, no <br /> park and no connector, but we GOT 400 homes! with another 50 coming up!! All exiting on <br /> AM Drive. <br /> <br /> I said all we got is a truss mill manufacturing company building all day and all night and a <br /> huge excavating company blasting and hauling dirt and rocks down our roads, plus all the <br /> homes and cars. What a mess, thanks Chris! <br /> <br /> I asked Chris at that meeting in Waikoloa how does it happen that the improvements the <br /> developer promised was not going to happen. I said that all new developments need to have <br /> a park for neighbors to meet plus the infrastructure promised. <br /> <br /> I said who approved that the developer could continue building over 249 homs even though <br /> we have no connector. <br /> Chris said he signed the permission. <br /> <br /> I said to Chris how could we be assured that all new developments have parks and other <br /> amenities like sidewalks,etc? <br /> <br /> Chris said it would take a vote by the people and it is a very hard thing to get presented. <br /> <br /> Hey, Chris, you have a presentation and asking for a vote, but you want to have your <br /> presentation so that you do not have to review so many issues. You are not doing the ones <br /> that had been planned. <br /> <br /> This is suppose to be a better government and Yuen's way will make it worst. <br /> He will then think he is God for sure and he will be, since he will not have the developer <br /> making any promises so he will not have to be asked to change or review them. <br /> <br /> Why don't we get competent staff in planning and not accept incomplete applications and <br /> Comm.
