No. 779Bi11 No. 254 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> <br /> TIME: 10:28 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 254, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 254, transmitted by Hawaii County Board of Ethics Chair Reeve N. Williams, via <br /> Communication No. 779, dated March 8, 2006, amends Chapter 2, Article 15, Section 2-91.3(b) <br /> of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 Edition), relating to the registration of lobbyists, by <br /> deleting the exemption of attorneys from registration. <br /> Bill No. 254 proposes to remove the exemption provided to attorneys. <br /> During the course of its consideration of the issues involved in lobbyist registration, the Board of <br /> Ethics considered whether the exemption is appropriate, as the State Code of Ethics does not <br /> exempt attorneys from registering as lobbyists.
