No. 785Bi11 No. 255 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> TIME: 10:28 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 255, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 255, transmitted by Director of Personnel Michael R. Ben, SPHR, via Communication <br /> <br /> No. 785, dated March 22, 2006, seeks to initiate a Charter Amendment to Article VI, Chapter 8, <br /> Section 6-8.4, of the Hawaii County Charter 2000, relating to the Depaztment of Pazks and <br /> Recreation, County Bands. <br /> To ensure compliance with Civil Service exemption laws, the Department of Civil Service <br /> conducted a review of the exempt status of the Bandmaster and band member positions in the <br /> Hawaii County and West Hawaii County Bands. The Department found that all positions, <br /> including the Bandmaster, should be in Civil Service.
