Aloha, Lei Kihoi
----Original Message
From: Lei Kihoi-Dunne
To: visbell - co.hawaii.hi.us
Sent: Monday, May 15, 2006 11:14 AM
Subject: Bill 246, 268, 224 (For hearing 5/16 & 5/1706
Aloha Council Person Virginia Isbell:
I am your constituent in South Kona. I respectfully request that you address my concerns, and
vote accordingly on the following Bills:
Bill 224_(Hilu Hilu Project) (5/16/06
1. Vote NO: For the following reasons
a. That this developer has not provided sufficient evidence that infrastructure will be built to
sustain the surrounding area;
Bill 246 (Ki'ilae Development) (5/17/06)
2. Vote No:
a. Mr. Yuen must comply w/the current County Law, and cannot amend the current
subdivision codes to accommodate applicants. I am against the unilateral amendments of the
County Code.
Bill 268 (Charter Amendment for Open Records Equal Access to Information)(5/17/06)
3. Vote YES
a. I read w/detailed interest, the League of Women Voter's Study Research on March 14,
2006. (See News Release Freedom of Information Compliance Audit). The result was that there
is a consisten pattern of "defensiveness and reluctance" to release information which is deemed
"public" It is appalling that many public records are consistently being withheld from the
Public. Thus, vote YES to place the Charter Amendment on the November Ballot.
4. With regards to the other Bills currently requesting approval for new development (Bills 226,
227, 247, 251), I am for controlled growth. Thus, please vote "No" unless sufficient plans have
been made for infrastructure. Traffic is uncontrollable, and more development in these areas
have to be supported by the proper infrastructure. We need to maintain a quality lifestyle.
Continuing development without the proper accommodating infrastructure will have a negative
impact our day to day existence. Mahalo for your support
Coen? No.
Aloha, Lei Kihoi Raf. Ta:h
Ref. Date

5/15/2006
