Higa, Chair
Hawaii County Council
Hilo, Hi.

Dear Mr. Higa:

Aloha, Chairman Higa. I would like to urge you to vote against Bill 268. Hilo is the
capital of the county and the vast majority of items on the agendas require overall
attention from the East side.

Whenever there are important matters affecting development that directly impacts the
lives of people in West Hawaii, the video conferencing in both Kona and Waimea allows
the voters there the opportunity to testify while meetings are conducted in Hilo.
Quarterly meetings are still held in Kona, therefore, the current schedule throughout the
year should remain status quo.

It is essential that this Bill be given your full and complete attention. It is not appropriate
that the Council meet more that four times a year in Kona.

Mahalo.

Raenelle Akiyama
Hilo

Comm.
