WHEREAS, September 8, 2006, is the sixtieth calendar day prior to the next scheduled <br /> general election; and <br /> WHEREAS, September 23, 2006, is the forty-fifth day prior to the next scheduled <br /> general election. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> OF HAWAII that it hereby directs the Clerk of the County of Hawaii to take all necessary <br /> steps provided for in all applicable provisions of the Hawaii County Charter and the Hawaii <br /> Revised Statutes, within the prescribed time limits, fox placing the Charter amendment proposed <br /> by Ordinance No. 06-84 on the 2006 General Election ballot for approval by the voters of the <br /> County. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that those actions include but not be limited to <br /> submission of the ballot question to Dwayne D. Yoshina, Chief Election Officer of the State of <br /> Hawaii, prior to 4:30 p.m., September 8, 2006, pursuant to section 11-119(b), Hawaii Revised <br /> Statutes, and publication of the full text of the Charter amendment proposed by Ordinance No. <br /> 06-84 the Hawaii Tribune Herald and the West Hawaii Today, two newspapers of general <br /> circulation in the county, prior to Saturday, September 23, 2006, the forty-fifth day prior to the <br /> 2006 General Election, pursuant to section 15-2, Hawaii County Charter. <br /> BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that certified copies of this resolution be sent to Dwayne <br /> D.
