We would like to provide you with information for <br /> your consideration on the current Kona Community Development Plan (CDP) schedule. <br /> The Draft Kona CDP is due this December from our consultant team. The Draft Kona <br /> CDP will then be reviewed by the Kona CDP Steering committee, finalized then passed. <br /> onto the Planning Commission for review before being submitted to the Council for final <br /> adoption. We anticipate a six-month process for this review process. We anticipate a <br /> tentative date of approximately Jane '1007 for final Council adoption of the Kona CDP as <br /> ordinance. <br /> We are very aware of the community's concerns regarding potential land use decisions <br /> such as rezoning during the formulaticm of the Kota CDP. Please be assured that we are <br /> paying attention to the desires of the community and the preferred patterns that are <br /> emerging through this intensive community process. The Planning department is <br /> concerned about the effect such a moratorium may have. We believe that we are able to <br /> provide recommendations on rezoning applications based on the current General Plan and <br /> the community input pending the adoption of the Kona CDP.
