Mr. Olson stated his position then and now is that he did not object to the technology as it works quite well. His objection, however, was to the fact that it was a political decision to build it at that location irrespective of the science involved. He stated they saw a clear demonstration that when things are done at that level and it did not measure up, the community suffers major impacts from that. Another reason for being involved is because of the inundation of Kalapana and then the geothermal issue. He stated he saw the flaws in the planning process, one was natural and the other was man made but the county and state melted down. They were ill prepared for either. Mr. Olson certainly hopes that emergency response issues are addressed in these plans and then make sure the people in the community are aware of the plans.
