PETITION

TO: THE COUNTY COUNCIL, HILO, HAWAII

WE, the undersigned residents of the County of Hawaii, State of Hawaii, hereby declare
that we are Against Mandatory Cat Licensing. The proposal for cats to be licensed is
ludicrous. It seems the anti-cat extremist did so without fore thought of all the negative
ramifications in doing so. 1. It puts cats in jeopardy as the collar and dangling - tags
(license) will cause the animal to become entangled (causing serious injury or death) in
the multi-various types of terrain on the Big Island. 1. It does not make cat owners more
responsible. 2. It will not help raise the status of cats. 3. It will not result in more cats
being redeemed at shelters. 4. It will not reduce shelter killings. 5. It will not pay for
itself. 6. It will not raise money to help fund animals agencies. More so, it will increase
additional cost, which will have to be paid for by taxpayers, or cuts in other services.
7. Mandatory Cat Licensing, inappropriately expands the power and reach of
government bureaucracies and enforcement agencies.

NAME ADDRESS DATE
1. \,14) Al e)4SoctiL J 3 ~-K / l wn~ , 56175 f~7 06

2. 1 nip tr -fi- ( P'6. xr (7s` a, 9c 1 2a/ol

/el If 3. /I ,44w O v v o 0'lC. f~q q4 ff. ` fE 77
-4`

5 q ~l

7.
