It has been brought to my attention that some new animal
control measures are being proposed for the Blg Island. I am very concerned that some of these measures will
be very difficult if not impossible to enforce. For example limiting pets to four/household--- what do we consider
pets? birds, guinea pigs,fish.... or just dogs and cats. Requiring all cats to wear collars, not only is this difficult
to enforce but it's very difficult to keep a collar on most cats and they can actually be dangerous to cats. I will
not be able to be at the meeting in regards to these measures, but hope that all of you will take into
consideration the ideas herein and the ideas of the HIHS and others who are involved in animal control
currently, because these are the folks that speak from experience and know what has worked and failed in
other communities across this country. Thanks for your time and consideration!
