No. 380-06 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 380-06, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 380-06, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication <br /> No. 926, dated May 26, 2006, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Canines for <br /> Kids, Inc. <br /> The Canines for Kids, Inc., a nonprofit organization located in Burlington, North Carolina, has <br /> graciously donated a search dog to the Hawaii County Department's Juvenile Aid Section. The <br /> value of this donation is estimated at $8,000. <br /> The trained canine, named "Katie", will be used to locate missing children primazily in the West <br /> Hawaii area. <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the <br /> County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property. <br /> A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Mike Craig, Co-founder/President, Canines for Kids, <br /> Inc., 4581B Tangle Ridge Trail, Burlington, North Cazolina 27217, acknowledging this generous <br /> donation. <br /> Officer W.
