Higa 50" a Council Chairman RE: Resolution No. 402-06, Draft 4 Meetings This is to transmit Resolution No. 402-06, Draft 4, which adds a provision that says the council's approval of adequate personnel, equipment and other services to allow it to comply with statutory, legal and processing deadlines would be needed. The proposed new language is as follows: • Add a new WHEREAS clause before the last WHEREAS clause: WHEREAS, it is recognized that the ability to hold effective meetings and to comply with all statutory, legal and processing requirements will depend upon the provision of sufficient personnel, equipment, and support services; and • Add a phrase in the proposed rule change: Provided, however, that effective January 1, 2007, the county council shall hold an equal number of Committee and Council meetings in East Hawaii and in West Hawaii, subiect to the council's approval of adequate personnel, equipment, and support services to comply with statutory, legal and processing deadlines. This meeting schedule shall remain in effect at least through the 2007 calendar year. This schedule may be subject to review in December 2007, at the discretion of the Council. Videoconferencing shall be provided for all Committee and Council meetings held in West Hawaii.
