No. 972 (Res. 407-06) <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> TIME: 11:22 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Safety and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred <br /> Communication No. 972 (Res. 407-06) reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 972 (Res. 407-06), transmitted by Council Vice-Chair Virginia Isbell, dated <br /> June 30, 2006 transmits a resolution requesting the Hawaii County Council to look into banning <br /> smoking at Kahalu`u Beach Park. <br /> The purpose of this resolution is for the Council to consider research and data compiled by the <br /> West Hawaii Youth Fisheries Council as well as personal testimonies given by members of the <br /> youth council and the general public. The Council is asked to support a resolution for an <br /> ordinance to ban smoking at Kahalu`u Beach Park. <br /> <br /> All testifiers were in support of this resolution.
