This interim General Plan <br /> amendment will merely restore what was taken away early last year. <br /> <br /> I support good development that will expand the marina. The West Hawaii community <br /> has clamored for this expanded marina for many years and it is evident that government funds <br /> would not be available for this purpose. <br /> Starting this process now will also help to create jobs over the next 10 to <br /> 15 years for the long term growth of the community. Good economic health leads to strong <br /> communities. <br /> This new development will also contribute to the infrastructure of the emerging growth <br /> hub north of Kailua that has the opportunity to grow into a new economic and activity center for <br /> North Kona and all of West Hawaii.
