Angel <br /> Subject: Pesolution 383-06 <br /> <br /> August 1, 2006 <br /> <br /> Aloha Mr. Chair and members of the Hawai'i County Council, <br /> <br /> I am opposed Resolution 383-06 to initiate interim amendments to the General Plan for lands <br /> adjoining Honokohau Harbor. <br /> <br /> The BLNR-JDI Agreement/contract was in conflict with existing Open County zoning and the <br /> adopted General Plan Open <br /> designation. <br /> Existing Open County zoning and GPD1 designation were in conflict with the Honokohau <br /> RFQ/RFP when issued. <br /> <br /> Since under State law, the Agreement is void, there is no basis to consider that Kona Marina <br /> has "entitlements" to the public's land at Honokohau. <br /> <br /> Rather than dispute this further, I believe the Council should be active in creating a ban on <br /> urban development of any kind along the coastline to save our ocean environment - an <br /> urgent requirement supported by the public. <br /> I urge this Council to vote "no" on Resolution 383-06. <br /> <br /> Thank you for your attention to this matter. <br /> <br /> Sincerely, <br /> <br /> Esta <br /> Marshall <br /> P.O.Box 916, Honaunau, HI 95726 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Comm.
