Also attached is a copy of HR3468 from which my resolution was based.

I would like to ask for your concurrence with the purpose of Resolution No. 438-06. This is
an important measure that will help to ensure invasive species of plants and animals are
discovered and prevented from entering through our harbors and airports.

As you may already know we are currently fighting a losing battle with the coqui frog here on
the Big Island. The coqui frog has quickly become one of the highest "quality of life" issues
here. If we had effective inspections in place the coqui may never have been allowed to establish
residency here. What will be next?

Can you tell me about what is happening at the State level to address this issue? How can we
coordinate our efforts to address this issue. I welcome your suggestions and urge you to support
HR3468 and Resolution No. 438-06.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions or concerns please call
my office anytime.

Mahalo,
