Higa, Chairman and <br /> Members of the Hawai'i County Council <br /> Hawai'i County Council <br /> 25 Aupuni Street <br /> Hilo, Hawai'i 96720 <br /> Re: Operating Budget <br /> The Department of Environmental Management has been informed by the office of District 7 <br /> Council Member Virginia Isbell that funds will be transferred from her allocation of the Council's <br /> contingency relief account to the Solid Waste Fund in a forthcoming resolution to Council. This <br /> resolution will transfer a total of $4,000 from the Clerk-Council Services Contingency Relief <br /> account to the Transfer to Solid Waste Fund account for the planting of trees at the old Kealakehe <br /> dump site and scrap metal area. These funds will be awarded to the Kona Outdoor Circle as a <br /> grant to plant trees around the closed landfill and the scrap metal storage pile. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating a total of <br /> $4,000 to the Solid Waste Fund's Landfills OCE account. <br /> <br /> For the purpose of having this appropriating bill proceed concurrently with the Council's transfer of <br /> funds resolution pertaining to this appropriation for District 7, the Department of Environmental <br /> Management would like to request a waiver from the Finance committee and have this bill heard at <br /> the Council meeting scheduled for October 16, 2006. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Environmental <br /> Management. <br /> t <br /> <br /> <br /> William Taka <br /> Director of Finance <br /> <br /> APPROVED: <br /> <br /> <br /> 44Y__111 <br /> Harry Kim <br /> Mayor <br /> Comm.
