No. 484-06 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 484-06, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 484-06, transmitted by Finance Committee Chair Virginia Isbell, via Communication No. <br /> 1120, dated October 3, 2006, authorizes the sale of Tax Map Key (3)7-6-013:017 as a Remnant Parcel. <br /> The County of Hawaii is the owner of that certain parcel of land, being Lot 1, between Kailua-Keauhou <br /> Middle Road, at Holualoa Is` and 2"d, North Kona, Hawaii, further identified as Tax Map Key: (3)7-6- <br /> 013:017. <br /> The County of Hawaii acquired the parcel on January 6, 1969 from L.S. Dillingham, C.W. Carlsmith, <br /> B.F. Dillingham, and Donn W. Carlsmith, for the proposed Kailua Fire Station site. <br /> Then in 1973, the CounTy constructed a new Kailua Fire Station on Palani Road and no longer has plans <br /> to utilize Lot 1 for any of its programs. <br /> Pursuant to Section 2-110(3), Hawaii County Code, "Remnant" means a parcel of land economically or <br /> physically unsuitable or undesirable for development or utilization as a separate unit by reason of <br /> location, size, shape, or other characteristics. <br /> Pursuant to Section 2-111, Hawaii County Code, permits the exchange of real property for private <br /> property.
