Ems,
~w>
t> lr~
August 22, 2006
Council chair and Members,
22 Aupuni st.
Hilo, Hi, 96720
Dear Council Higa,

My name is Ian Henderson. I am currently attending Hilo high school.
I enjoy hanging out with my friends and body boarding at the beach. I am currently 16
and will be a voting citizen in less then 3 years. This topic I am about to talk about is an
extremely interesting topic to me. I am in Ms. Dorn's Participation in Democracy class.
We are discussing the banned on alcohol at public beaches. I think that bill 300 is a
horrible idea because this is our community and people have a right to do what they want
where they want.
When people work as single parents trying to sustain two jobs and have 3 kids they have
the right to have a beer with there friends at there favorite beach. So I am personally
against bill 300. I think that there are just much more problems going on in our town that
are much more important than a beer at a beach, I mean go catch the guy who sold my
friend ice last week that put my friend in the hospital. From trying to stop people from
doing what they have a right to do, just seems like a waste of time in my opinion.

Sincerely,

Ian Henderson

Comm.
