Right
now I'm in a Participation in Democracy class and the issue of Bill 300 came up. I'm
almost 18 and soon will be able to vote and be a member of this county. My opinion
should matter because it will affect me in the years to come.

In my opinion, I am against Bill 300. One reason is because drinking at the beach park
has been a tradition for many families and that is how they socialize and are able to spend
time together. Just because a person drinks doesn't mean they are going to be drunk and
cause problems. Another thing is if the bill is passed that doesn't mean it will be
followed. We already have a high rate of arrests and this is just one more law that people
will break frequently. Police should just arrest those who are disruptive and violent
instead of punishing everyone. That's why I'm against Bill 300. Please share this letter
with the other council members. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Unis Bates

Comm. No.
Ref.
