Anger Pilago, <br /> and Gary Safarik, Council Members Hawaii County Council <br /> 25 Aupuni Street, Suite 209 <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Re: Written Testimony In Support Of Bill 258, Draft 4 <br /> Animal Control Bill <br /> Please accept this letter as written testimony urging you to pass Bill 258, Draft 4. <br /> In February 2006, I provided written testimony in strong opposition to Bill 4, Draft 6. <br /> In my letter dated February 11, 2006, I cited several sections from the ordinances of the <br /> City and County of Honolulu as examples to improve Hawaii County's legislation. <br /> Bill 258, Draft 4 is a vast improvement over Bill 4, Draft 6, as it utilizes language from <br /> the ordinances of the City and County of Honolulu to improve upon not only the previously <br /> introduced bill, but also the existing Chapter 4 of the Hawaii County Code. <br /> If adopted, the new ordinance will provide stronger measures towards animal control and <br /> promote greater responsibility among pet owners, while allowing flexibility for the public <br /> to enjoy training, hunting, and competition events. <br /> I wholeheartedly support Bill 258, Draft 4 and humbly ask for your support to adopt this <br /> bill at your next meeting on Wednesday, November 29, 2006. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Pamela Mizuno J~Qb <br /> Comm.
