What a surprise awaits the charter customers as they turn off
the highway into Honokohau Harbor. It is outdated, overrun and in desperate need
of improvements. I am not blaming the State or anyone else, its just a fact.
The pollutants within Honokohau are getting worse. There are no walkways on
either side of the boats, no electrical outlets and no lift stations to pump out
holding tanks making it very difficult to maintain the charter boats properly. In other
words, the basic necessities to maintain and present a quality activity do not exist.

Kona has the opportunity to work with an environmentally conscious developer
who has very forward thinking ways to build a marina that will be way ahead of its
time. The developer will utilize and work in partnership with the environment to
build a world-lass mixed-use marina Kona can call its own. It will be a marina
others will look at as a solid example of energy efficiency, while being culturally
sensitive and environmentally sound, for decades to come.

I ask you to support Bill 309 (Amendment E-4).
Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

4ZO~ a
Captain Neal Isaacs
President
Comm.
