Kailua Kona, HI 96740

NOV 14 Nov. 9, 2006

County Council Members f~QUi*1I
County of Hawaii
25 Aupuni Street,
Hilo, HI 96720

Dear Council Members,

I strongly object to Bill 251 - the Rezoning of Moeauoa 2n°, North Kona. I disapprove
of amending section 25-8-3 North Kona Zone Map to a RM - multiple Family Residential
Area. I say "No", to residential development at this time.

I am for leaving it as an agriculture area. I encourage you to purchase it for public
recreation use. Kona needs open space, parks, walking trails, and bicycle paths. We
need place for dogs to run, children to play and adults to get exercise. Teens need a
skate park. The community need space to breath, enjoy the beautiful vistas and enjoy
this place in paradise. Another Housing develop does not achieve those goals.

I insist you only consider any rezoning after the Kona Community Development Plan is in
place. Then give some time for the infrastructure to be built first, let it be put in place.
We need our current situation to be solved. There are serious problems of water supply,
space for students in schools, space for additional cars on the road, our transfer stations
to find solutions for the additional garbage, our sewer system expanded for the additional
waste water, power sources to have capacity to electrify, hospital services be adequate,
emergency services capable of handling the added population, and so on and so on. We
need places to enjoy this beautiful island and the sweet community of Kona. Do not let
developers, with no interest in our long term vision of community and life style, ruin
everything for their short term gain.
Do not be fooled by their slick deals and over zealous excitement. It is only eye wash, to
leave Kona residents with the over crowding to deal with in the end.

Stop urbanizing Kona NOW!!!!
No to Bill 251!

Mahalo.

Nancy W.
