The areas above <br /> Highway 19 have rainfall of 100-200 inches/year but is occasionally plagued with dry periods <br /> ranging from 3 months to 1 year. The ponds will catch water during the high-rainfall months <br /> to be used below when drought hits. These surface reservoirs will also be used for aquaculture <br /> (fish and watercress). <br /> Infrastructure. The 10,000+ acres are currently traversed by plantation roads and farm <br /> roads. Where there are no extisting roads for four-wheel drive vehicles, pastures will abound <br /> since cattle can walk from the pasture to the loading points accessible by roads. <br /> CONCLUSION <br /> This analysis is a preliminary view at relative value compared with monocrop Eucalyptus. Un- <br /> der no circumstances are the data contained in this document be viewed as guaranteed guidelines <br /> for business plans that maybe put forth in the future regarding the agro-industrial development <br /> of Hamakua.
