COUNTY OF HAWAII ._STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION Na. 1Q2 5~ <br /> WHEREAS, the federal government, by and through the <br /> <br /> Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has offered the County of <br /> <br /> Hawaii a grant award in the amount of $9,023,600.00 to assist in <br /> the construction of the Hilo Wastewater Treatment and Conveyance <br /> <br /> Project, Phase I, which amount may be increased depending upon the <br /> actual cost of the project; and <br /> WHEREAS, as a condition of receiving said grant, the County <br /> shall be required to execute an EPA assistance agreement and <br /> adhere to the special conditions incident thereto; and <br /> WHEREAS, as a special condition to the receipt of such <br /> assistance grant, the EPA shall require the County to agree to <br /> build the following projects over the course of several years: <br /> PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> Waiakea Houselot Collection System <br /> Old Waiakea Mill Sewer <br /> Ainako Interceptor, Part A <br /> Kalanianaole Sewer <br /> Ainako Interceptor, Part B <br /> WHEREAS, adherence by the County to the above special <br /> condition will necessarily involve the encumbrance of funds from <br /> the appropriations of later fiscal years; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to section 10-11 of the Hawaii County <br /> Charter, any contract or obligation requiring the payment of funds <br /> <br />
