Funds to be utilized to upgrade the electrical power <br /> supply to accommodate the increased power supply demand, especially for <br /> the upgrade of the Communications Dispatch Center for the Wireless E911 <br /> system ($100,000) and for the repair and upgrade of the elevator located in <br /> Building A, which is in constant need of repairs ($79,000). Also, $10,000 is <br /> needed to fund an analysis of the County's microwave system and facilities, <br /> to determine whether or not Hawaii Volcano Observatory's (HVO) request to <br /> bring their new equipment on-line can be accommodated. The sites in <br /> question are Captain Cook, South Point and the County Baseyard. <br /> $3,500 Police Administration Division -Equipment (Computer Equipment & Software): <br /> Computer equipment for the new Police Sergeant position for the Special <br /> Response Team is needed. <br /> $13,930 Police Administration Services - S & W (Regular S&W): <br /> A Police Sergeant position is being created and will be assigned permanently to <br /> the Special Response Team. Currently, the department has temporarily <br /> reassigned aDetective/Sergeant position from their Operations Bureau. <br /> Fire (Contact Person: Chief Darryl Oliveira): <br /> $110,520 Fire Protection - OCE (Miscellaneous Contractual Services): <br /> Funds are requested to improve the public protection services in the County of <br /> Hawaii and will be use to Repair and/or upgrade the rescue boats for the Rescue <br /> Companies located at the Waiakea and Kailua Fire Stations ($110,520). <br /> $23,158 Fire Protection -Equipment: <br /> Additional equipment is needed in the field. This includes two Radio Base Stations <br /> for the Laupahoehoe & Kawailani stations as the existing ones need to be replaced <br /> as they are aged and obsolete ($7,632) and an Emergency Radio Communications <br /> System Repeater in the County Baseyard as the present system is antiquated and <br /> replacement parts are no longer available ($15,526). <br /> Public Works (Contact Person: Jiro Sumada): <br /> $30,668 Building Inspection -Equipment (Motor Vehicle): <br /> Funds are needed to purchase a vehicle for a building inspector. <br /> Animal Control (Contact Person: Assistant Chief Paul Ferreira/Kav Oshiro): <br /> $50,000 Humane Society (Miscellaneous Contractual Services): <br /> Extension of the contract until June 30, 2007 has resulted in the increased cost. <br /> 3 <br /> <br />
