With respect to the roads <br /> and roadways described in Section tII.B of the Report, this is to confum that: <br /> • The mauka-makai road referred to in Section III.B will connect Waikoloa Village at <br /> Hulu Strcet to the Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway just inside the northwestern <br /> boundary of the proposed District. This road will be constructed pursuant to the <br /> design criteria, proposed alignments, and intersection requirements with Hulu Street <br /> and Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway as delineated by the Aina Lea Master Plan. <br /> • Bridge Aina Lea acknowledges that the mauka-makai connector is the highest <br /> priority facility being funded by the proposed District. Accordingly, Bridge Aina <br /> Lea commits that no more than $20 million in bonds will be issued for the District <br /> before this mauka-makai connector is either completely funded or a completion bond <br /> for the completion of the connector is provided to your Department. Bridge Aina Lea <br /> understands that [he Department of Public Works will use its good faith efforts to <br /> expedite the issuance of permits for the construction of this road. <br /> I hope this helps to clarify matters regarding the connector road.
