East Hawaii Landfill Closure, Materials Recovery Facility & $12 million <br /> Long Haul Transfer Station (Fines and loss of other Federal <br /> funds if project not completed) <br /> 2. ADA Compliance Projects (Federal Mandate, COH already $500,000 <br /> party to lawsuit for facilities failing to comply) <br /> I am requesting a presentation justifying the respective $12 million and $500,000 price tag. A <br /> cost breakdown and explanation of the expenditures is needed in order to make an informed <br /> decision. <br /> I have also requested a project breakdown from Russell Kokubon regazding the $16 million <br /> safety improvements to County of Hawaii facilities. He has indicated that some improvements <br /> are mandated by State and/or Federal law. I would like to see a mandated project list, as well as <br /> other CIP projects that initiated this $16 million dollar request. <br /> I will be requesting that the $40 million bond issue be deferred at the next Council meeting, until' <br /> the information can be presented at the next Public Works & Parks Committee meeting. <br /> <br />
