tv or COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII ~j~•a•M~%j1 RESOLUTION NO. 161 U'7 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) WHEREAS, the Three Ring Ranch, Inc. is organized as a 501(c)3 corporation for the purpose of operating an animal sanctuary for caze and rehabilitation of exotic, injured, abandoned, endangered and illegally smuggled animals, to house and caze for species that aze deemed unreleasable, to educate the public and students about proper animal caze, and to serve as an amnesty station for alien animal species in the State of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the Three Ring Ranch, Inc. is the only sanctuary in Hawaii, which is accredited by The Association of Sanctuazies (TAOS) and one of 38 sanctuazies in the United States; and WHEREAS, the Three Ring Ranch, Inc. provides a summer, residential intern program to six Pre-Veterinary college students who receive one college credit from the University of California -Davis in Animal Behavior Studies including hands-on experience, and 100% of these interns have been accepted into Veterinary Colleges; and WHEREAS, the Three Ring Ranch, Inc. cares for all native species including bats, seabirds/shorebirds, raptors, nene, and non-native exotics including turtles and tortoises, zebras, flamingos, and parrots; and WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Police Department/Animal Control to be used as a grant towazds the Three Ring Ranch, Inc. to defray the costs of $9,000 for the Pre-Veterinazy Animal Behavior Studies Program and $10,000 to operate the sanctuary; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated asset forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF $19,000 APPROPRIATION: OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency $19,000 Relief
