The grant funds will be used to reduce the fatalities and injuries to front and rear <br /> seat occupants aged 17 and under, of motor vehicle collisions by increasing the usage rate of <br /> seat belts. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the <br /> additional funds into the Occupant Protection (Seat Belt Enforcement) Program account and <br /> bringing the total grant appropriation to $109,000. <br /> In order to expedite this matter and have the funds appropriated this fiscal year, the Police <br /> Department would like to request a waiver from the Finance committee and have this bill heard <br /> at the Council meeting scheduled for May 2, 2007. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Police Department. <br /> William Ta aba <br /> Director of Finance <br /> APPROVED: <br /> C-~~ <br /> //Harry Kim ~ ~0 1 <br /> U Mayor Comm.
