Zt~3 U J <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br /> WHEREAS, the Kohala Center is a 501(c)3 corporation with a mission to respectfully <br /> engage the Island Of Hawaii as a living laboratory for humanity; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kohala Center proposes to work at Kahulu`u Beach Park to restore the <br /> beach and tide pools and to provide citizens and visitors with cultural and educational programs; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kohala Center will expand the activities of ReefWatchers, an ongoing, <br /> on-site program to save the near shore environment by teaching reef etiquette and emphasizing <br /> the importance of coral reefs to marine ecology and hold monthly cultural and educational events <br /> that bring local families and visitors to the Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the <br /> Department of Research and Development to be used as a grant towards the Kohala Center to <br /> educate island residents and vistors and restore Kahulu`u Park; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: General <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $23,000 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $23,000 <br /> CREDITED TO: <br /> 010.161.5161.60 <br /> Department of Research and Development <br /> Tourism Promotion- Misc.
