~f!~v,o..,y` <br /> w ••:4 <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ry~~:N'~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 195 0'7 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii General Plan, Section 12 -Recreation, Subsection <br /> 12.3 Policies, adopted by the County Council in February of 2005, established the following <br /> policies: <br /> `...(m) Develop a network of pedestrian access trails to places of scenic, historic, natural <br /> or recreational values. This system of trails shall provide, at a minimum, an island- <br /> wide route connecting major parks and destinations. <br /> (n) Establish a program to inventory ancient trails, cart roads and old government <br /> roads on the island in coordination with appropriate State agencies. <br /> (o) Develop facilities and safe pathway systems for walking, jogging, and biking <br /> activities.... <br /> (u) Provide access to public hunting areas." <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Districts of North and South Kona are in the process of completing a <br /> Community Development Plan that will have scenic, historic, natural, recreational, and cultural <br /> components; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the most important cultural, historic and recreational assets of North <br /> and South Kona are the existing trails; and <br /> WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the <br /> Department of Planning to be used to complete a mapped inventory of Trails for the Districts of <br /> North and South Kona, beginning with the shoreline access trails; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: General <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $10,000 <br /> <br />
