~~v os x <br /> J4Y <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 198 0'7 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF STATE <br /> FUNDING APPROPRIATED BY THE STATE LEGISLATURE PURSUANT TO <br /> <br /> ACT 178, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 2005, FOR COMMUNITY ANTI-DRUG <br /> EFFORTS ON THE ISLAND OF HAWAII <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Legislature enacted Act 178, Session Laws of Hawaii <br /> 2005, which appropriated funding for the County of Hawaii to continue its anti-drug abuse efforts; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used: <br /> a.) to fund grassroots community efforts to sustain its anti-drug campaigns; provided that no <br /> single nonprofit entity shall receive more than $5,000 and provided further that no funds <br /> shall be expended under this section unless matched by funds from the County of <br /> Hawaii; <br /> b.) for community adolescent drug prevention programs on the Island of Hawaii; <br /> c.) for community-based substance abuse prevention programs, with priority given to drug <br /> education and awareness in the schools, community partnerships, and non-school <br /> youth activities in communities with the greatest need; and <br /> d.) for community anti-drug efforts aimed at preventing crystal methamphetamine use. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments <br /> obtain the consent of the council to expend, and receive any funds or other assistance the federal <br /> or state governments in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to any powers <br /> granted by law. <br /> <br />
