vvwp„ <br /> r~~ <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ~•o'.N''p <br /> s <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 21~ <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br /> WHEREAS, the mission of The Salvation Army-Family Intervention Services (TSA-FIS) <br /> is to provide youths with skills for a healthy lifestyle and instill purpose, hope, and vision to youths <br /> and their families; and <br /> WHEREAS, TSA-FIS-Prevention Programs provides a safe and nurturing environment to <br /> youths ages 7 to 18, along with access to opportunities, experiences, and services to support <br /> positive youth development; and <br /> WHEREAS, TSA-FIS-Prevention Programs strives to decrease the use and abuse of <br /> alcohol, tobacco, and other illicit drugs, as well as involvement with gangs and violence, <br /> delinquent behaviors, early sexual behaviors, and to improve academic performance and school <br /> attendance; and <br /> WHEREAS, transportation can be a major barrier to accessing services and resources, <br /> therefore, outreach activities and relevant services are provided in the respective communities <br /> where the youth and family reside; and <br /> WHEREAS, services include educational development, mentoring, opportunities for <br /> community services, youth leadership, and positive alternative activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, services are also provided on campus at Kea`au Elementary, Middle and <br /> High Schools and Mountain View Elementary School during in-school and after-school hours; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Council District 3 discretionary funds will be appropriated to the Office <br /> of the Prosecuting Attorney to be used towards The Salvation Army-Family Intervention <br /> Services-Prevention programs in Kea`au and Mountain View, Hawaii; now, therefore, <br /> <br />
